News Flash !!
Any player wishing to take part in a new event (“Team Taylor”) can do so
by registering as soon as possible at The Weigh Inn Bar. This event will
give up and coming talent the opportunity to go forward to Q School in
2013 and be mentored by Phil “The Power” Taylor. This is your chance
to try and make it onto the PDC circuit for a one of £10 entry fee. An
outline of the rules below. Don’t miss your chance.
- Players must adhere to Rileys or participating pub or club age restrictions and be accompanied by an adult if under age.
- Players are allowed to enter the competition at a different Rileys club (if the competition night is different), or other pub/club too!
- On all weeks, games will be played on a standard board – doubles, trebles, 25 and 50 (2bull”) – hung 5’8” from the centre of the “bull” to the floor and the throwing distance will be 7’9” measured along the floor.
- Each competitor will be assessed on throwing 60 darts – 20 x 3 darts at the challenge.
- Any player not present at the designated times (set by Rileys club or official venue) of competition will not be scored for that week.
- Players will be scored on a weekly basis and will take their 12 best scores (out of a potential 24) at the end of the competition.
- Each task from week 1 – 12 will be repeated from week 13-24.
- Players can take better scoring weeks as their final 12, i.e. weeks 12 and 24 can be taken as 2 of their weeks as they are worth more than any other weeks.
- The top 16 players in each region will go through to the regional finals that will take place in December 2012.
- The two finalists from each regional final will be paid into Qualifying School for the PDC
- The closing date for receipt of entry is Friday 25th May 2012. The cost for entry is £10 per person. Protégé Events Ltd reserves the right to change the entry costs without notice.
- Protégé Events Ltd reserves the right: to refuse or cancel any entry at any stage throughout the championships. To apply general rules of darts in all games, as decided by them. To address any eventuality not directly covered in the rules and deal with entirely at their discretion. To disqualify a player or players for any unsporting behaviour which is likely to cause upset or distraction to an opponent, act as arbiters in the case of a dispute and to apply a decision which will be absolutely final. PROTEGE EVENTS LTD’s DECISION IS FINAL IN ALL MATTERS APPERTAINING TO THE CHAMPIONSHIPS.
- By participating in this event, all players will be deemed to have accepted the rules of the championships and to have accepted the absolute jurisdiction of the organisers. All players also agree to abide by the rules of the Darts Regulation Authority (DRA).
- Successful qualifiers for regional finals agree to make themselves available on an evening (yet to be announced) for their regional final. If a player fails to turn up, he/she will be disqualified from the competition.
- Regional final formats are as follows: Last 16 players – first to four legs (501 start, double finish); Last 8 (Quarter finals) – first to five legs; Last 4 (semi finals) – first to six legs.
- If one player makes it through into the top 16 in two different regions, he/she can choose the regional final they will attend. The other region/s number 17 will replace the player in this region.
- If one player finishes in the top 16 in the same region more than once, the same principal as in rule 16 is applied in that region.
- If a player finishing in the top 16 has already qualified for the PDC tour in 2013, he/she will relinquish their entry fee for Qualifying school but will still be part of Team Taylor in 2013.
